There are two currently open consultations in this area. The first is from the Basel Committee and is open until 29 February (available here); its focus is the disclosure of climate-related financial risks, and it includes specific proposals relating to the disclosure of real estate exposures by reference to energy efficiency.
The other is a consultation from the EBA on draft guidelines on the management of ESG risks (it is available here, and closes on 18 April). In parallel, we wonder whether we should get involved in some way in response to the UK government’s Transition Finance Market Review (the terms of reference for that can be seen here).
If you or colleagues are considering any of those and would be willing to compare notes, please let Peter know. It would probably make sense for us to submit responses, but what we can say will depend on what you, our members, are telling us – so please talk to us!
