End of an era

Queen Elizabeth II was a consistent and assured figure representing duty, continuity and stability in a changing world – we doubt anyone reading these words can remember a time before her. Despite the ceremonial role of the British monarchy, the world feels a little less familiar and certain with her passing. May she rest in peace. Hers was not really an act anyone would wish to follow, but that is the lot of King Charles III – we wish him well.
