After submitting our response to the UK’s consultation on the case for a UK Green Taxonomy earlier this month, and in anticipation of the EU’s imminent consultation on its omnibus package to simplify key sustainable finance rules (expected to drop on 26 February), we are turning our attention to three new European consultations on quite different subjects:
- ESMA is consulting on regulatory technical standards relating to open-ended loan-originating AIFs until 12 March (here). We tend to think of the CRE debt funds in our universe as closed-ended, but we may be wrong (and the definition of open-ended is quite broad). If this is relevant to your firm, tell us, and we can look at developing a response, probably in collaboration with INREV, who are preparing submissions.
- ESMA is also consulting on revised disclosure requirements for private securitisations until 31 March (here). We may coordinate for a joint response with AFME, as we did on recent securitisation-related consultations where interests overlapped.
- The EBA is consulting on banks’ management of ESG risks until 18 April (here).
Very different subjects, but one point of contact at CREFC Europe… please drop Peter a lineif you are interested in any of the above (specifying which!).
