Sabina Reeves, Chief Economist & Head of Insights & Intelligence, CBRE Investment Management
Sabina Reeves is Chief Economist & Head of Insights & Intelligence for CBRE Investment Management. She is responsible for the firm’s 30-member real assets research team and has a specific role in selecting the economic scenarios and macro risk assessments that power the firm’s proprietary real assets forecasts. In addition, Sabina has executive responsibility for the firm’s 20-member Analytics and Risk Measurement team.
She was previously Chief Economist at IPD. Prior to IPD, she worked for Capital Economics, where she developed its UK residential and commercial property market analysis and forecasting service. She is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Sabina has previously been an External Examiner for the Real Estate Faculty at the University of Reading and is currently an Associate Fellow at the Said Business School, University Of Oxford.
Helen Hagan, Partner, Simmons & Simmons
Helen is the head of the UK Banking group at Simmons & Simmons. A partner specialising in real estate finance, Helen advises both lenders and borrowers on UK and European real estate investment and development financings across the spectrum of senior, mezzanine and equity structures. Helen’s understanding of clients' perspectives is drawn from her secondments to investment banks and funds, including with the largest global real estate private equity firm in and most recently with a leading global investment bank. Helen is a member of the CREFCE board of advisors and was the Simmons & Simmons signatory to the Mindful Business Charter.
Klaus Betz-Vais, Head of Global Investors & Listed Clients, Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking
Klaus leads the Global Investors & Listed team within the Real Estate & Housing business at Lloyds Bank, having joined Lloyds in 2015. He has over 19 years of experience in the finance industry and started his career as a generalist M&A banker before choosing to specialise in all aspects of real estate finance from 2005 onwards. Klaus lives in London, has a BSc (Hons) in Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School and speaks English, Czech and German.
Matthew Plax, Head of Corporate Banking, Mizrahi Tefahot Bank Ltd
Matthew is the Head of Corporate Banking at the London Branch of Mizrahi Tefahot Bank, Israel’s largest mortgage bank, having joined in 2008 as Head of Property Finance, in the midst of the Global Financial Crisis. He is responsible for all the lending teams, incorporating property, corporate, syndications and venture debt. In the context of real estate, the bank provides senior debt to investors and developers – specifically SMEs, High Net Worth Individuals, family offices and funds – specialising in value-add transactions including pre-planning, asset management and development. The bank focuses on asset classes including residential, commercial and hotels across London, the South of England and major regional cities. Matthew is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and is a mentor to post graduate students at the University of Reading’s Henley Business School. He became a Board Director of CREFCE in September 2022.
