This in-person event will feature an economic outlook for 2024 followed by a conversation amongst industry participants. The group will share their insights on the implications of the economic and market outlook for their REF strategies in 2024 and discuss non-economic and market drivers affecting those strategies and the sector more broadly.

Speaker Bios:
Sabina Reeves, Chief Economist & Head of Insights & Intelligence, CBRE IM
Sabina Reeves is Chief Economist and Head of Insights & Intelligence for CBRE Investment Management. She is responsible for the firm’s Research, Analytics and Quantitative Research teams and has a specific role in selecting the economic scenarios and macro risk assessments that power the firm’s proprietary real assets forecasts.
Sabina is excited by the enormous pace of technological change in real assets research, providing unprecedented access to new datasets and insights. She believes curiosity, ingenuity and creativity are vital to data analysis, and enjoys working in a field that can have a tangible, positive impact on the built environment and the communities where people live and work.
Previously, Sabina served as Head of Research for the firm’s EMEA region and the global quantitative team.
Sabina started in the industry in 2001 and joined the firm in 2008. She was previously Chief Economist at IPD. Prior to IPD, she
worked for Capital Economics, where she developed their UK residential and commercial property market analysis and forecasting service.
Sabina studied economics at Lincoln College, Oxford University and is a member of the Society of Business Economists, the Society of Property Researchers and the Investment Property Forum. She is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Sabina has previously been an External Examiner for the Real Estate Faculty at the University of Reading and is currently an Associate Fellow at the Said Business School, University Of Oxford.
Shripal Shah, Head of European Debt Origination London Hub, PIMCO Prime RE
Mr. Shah is the Head of Debt Origination London Hub of PIMCO Prime Real Estate. He joined the company in August 2019 to lead origination activities from the firm’s newly opened London office. Prior to that he held different senior positions in international real estate banking at Barclays Bank, HSBC and JCRA, where he was Head of Real Estate. Mr. Shah has 18 years of real estate experience and holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham.
Helen Hagan, Real Estate Finance Partner, Simmons & Simmons
Helen is the head of the UK Banking group at Simmons & Simmons. A partner specialising in real estate finance, Helen advises both lenders and borrowers on UK and European real estate investment and development financings across the spectrum of senior, mezzanine and equity structures.
Helen’s understanding of clients' perspectives is drawn from her secondments to investment banks and funds, including with the largest global real estate private equity firm and with a leading global investment bank. Her key sector experience includes offices, private rented sector, hotels, logistics and student accommodation.
Helen is listed as a leading individual for real estate finance in Chambers and Partners and has served on the board of advisors for CREFC Europe.
Farrah Brown, Head of Debt Capital Markets, EU & APAC, Nuveen Real Estate
As Head of Debt Capital Markets for Europe and APAC, Farrah is responsible for sourcing and managing debt across all sectors in which Nuveen invests. Farrah also works closely with Nuveen's debt platform on syndicating senior debt originated by the debt team. Farrah sits on both equity and debt investment committees.
Farrah also has direct real estate investment experience having previously worked on the company’s U.K. Property Strategy.
Farrah graduated with an M.A., honours, in International Business and Languages from Heriot Watt University and an M.Sc., with distinction, in Real Estate from Cass Business School. She has also completed the AMCT (Association of Corporate Treasurers).
