Richard cofounded Brotherton in June 2014 with Daniel Uzan. Brotherton is an independent debt advisory business active in the UK, Ireland and Europe. In 2023 the team closed £1.5BN of debt. Richard qualified as a finance lawyer with Lovells in London before moving into the real estate securitisation team at Barclays Capital as an investment banker. Prior to setting up Brotherton, he was a managing director at CR Investment Management, where he was responsible for the growth of the business internationally and working with hedge fund and private equity capital on the acquisition of real estate assets and non-performing loan portfolios across Europe.
